20-year old man arrested and charged with DUI in Clarke County

| Sep 20, 2013 | DUI |

A 20-year-old man has been accused of driving under the influence. DUI is a serious offense and it comes with the threat of losing one’s license, and even serving jail time for individuals who are convicted of the crime. Police have not charged the man with drinking and driving, but they have charged him with driving under the influence of drugs.

The young man was pulled over in Clarke County. He faces other charges in addition to DUI. However, as is the case for any person who is accused of a crime, the man is still innocent of the charges and will remain so unless and only if he is convicted by a court of law.

According to police, they pulled him over after he was allegedly driving erratically on the night of Sept. 10. Police allege that another driver had called 911 at 10:44 p.m. to report a man who was swerving on the road, which allegedly led to the arrest. The driver who made the call accused the man of nearly running him off the road.

The man has been accused of driving under the influence of controlled substances, possessing drugs that were not in their original container, and other crimes. Fortunately, this young man still has the opportunity to defend himself against the DUI charges and other crimes. In the best of cases, a DUI legal defense in Clarke County can get all charges dropped, achieve a verdict of not guilty, or at least get punishments reduced so that a sentence is dramatically less severe.
