Flo Rida arrested for DUI, driving with suspended license

| Jun 14, 2011 | DUI |

Hip hop star Flo Rida was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol last Friday. The rapper of the club hits, “Low” and “Right Round,” was pulled over by police officers on early Friday morning around 4 a.m. when police say they saw him swerving his car. Police pulled him over and began to administer field sobriety tests, but Flo Rida told police that he could not do the tests because he had been drinking. Police arrested him. He was also arrested for driving with a suspended license.

According to an article on the incident by MTV News, bystanders had gathered around the police and Flo Rida and were asking the police to let the hip hop artist go. They also offered to drive him home themselves. Flo Rida said he was okay to drive himself home because he was almost there. The police were not swayed and brought Flo Rida in to jail.

Flo Rida, or Tramar Dillard, allegedly had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.185. He was arrested in Miami Beach and taken to the Miami Beach Police Department. According to MTV News, the 31-year-old Flo Rida is not one whose behavior leads to many arrests. On Friday, police say they saw Flo Rida swerve several times and tried to pull him over. He did not pull his 2008 Bugatti over right away, but slowed down. Police say that they saw him swerve the car several more times before coming to stop on the side of the road.
