An actor from the TV show, “That’s So Raven,” was arrested last weekend on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The 23-year-old Orlando Brown was arrested by police officers in front of his home on Friday night.
The arresting police officers said that the car in Brown’s possession did not have a license plate. When they went to investigate this matter, they allegedly smelled alcohol on the breath of Brown. The actor-rapper’s pregnant girlfriend was inside the car at the time of the DUI arrest.
It is not known what tests police officers subjected Brown to before his arrest, such as field sobriety tests or breathalyzer tests. The police report was not immediately available in news reports. According to CBS Los Angeles, Brown was booked into jail at the Hollywood Station. Brown was released from jail after he posted $15,000 bail the next morning.
It is not yet known when Brown will be required to make a court appearance for the DUI charge. DUI charges are serious and can result in the suspension or loss of a driver’s license following the filing of the charges. In addition, fines and court fees will be assessed and alcohol education courses can be required upon a conviction. A conviction can also hurt future job prospects and current reputation. Even an arrest can hurt one’s current job because, for one thing, the suspension of a driver’s license could make it difficult to get to work.
On the Disney Channel’s “That’s So Raven,” Brown’s character was Eddie Thomas. Thomas is the best male friend of Raven (played by Raven-Symoné) a teen with psychic abilities.
