Off-duty officer reports suspected drunk driver, UGA student arrested

Athens-Clarke County Police reported that a University of Georgia student was arrested over the weekend for allegedly driving drunk. The student was arrested after an off-duty officer called police to report a suspected drunk driver.

Congressman's son arrested 3 times in Athens for alcohol offenses

Earlier this year on our Athens, Georgia, DUI defense law blog, we had mentioned that Athens-Clarke County Police reported that they had arrested U.S. Rep. John Barrow's son for allegedly driving under the influence and possessing a small amount of marijuana. The 18-year-old has reportedly been arrested two more times here in Athens this month for alcohol-related offenses.

NFL player reportedly suspected of DUI after crash in Georgia

Last week, it was reported that another NFL player has been arrested for allegedly driving drunk in Georgia. Police in Lincolnton reported that on Feb. 23, Brandon Barden of the Tennessee Titans had crashed his truck while he was driving with two passengers.
