Samantha Ronson arrested on suspicion of DUI

| Aug 4, 2011 | DUI |

Samantha Ronson, a former love interest of Lindsay Lohan, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The 33-year-old disc jockey was arrested on Monday. She was pulled over by law enforcement officers around 10:30 a.m. Officers said they pulled her vehicle over because she was speeding by driving 89 mph in a zone marked for 70 mph.

Law enforcement officers suspected that she was driving under the influence and gave Ronson field sobriety tests. She reportedly did not pass the tests. Ronson was arrested when she refused to take a breathalyzer test. She did agreed to take a breathalyzer test at the police station. This test reportedly showed that her blood alcohol concentration was over the legal limit.

Ronson was arrested in California on her way back to Los Angeles from Las Vegas where she was working as a disc jockey at a nightclub. Ronson is the sister of Mark Ronson, a music producer who worked with the late Amy Winehouse. She also was in the news as the on-again off-again girlfriend of Lindsay Lohan.

Lohan has been more often reported for arrests related to driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Lohan was in the news frequently last summer for her court visits ordered for repeatedly violating the terms of her parole related to a drunken driving and drug possession case from a few years ago. There is no word on charges yet or when Ronson will have to appear in court for the charges.
