David Cassidy Arrested for DUI

| Nov 4, 2010 | Underage DUI |

Former teen heartthrob David Cassidy was arrested for DUI on Wednesday night. According to CNN, Cassidy, 60, has been charged with drunk driving after failing a field sobriety test and registering a blood-alcohol level of .14 on a breathalyzer test; the legal limit is .08. A police officer also found a half-empty bottle of bourbon under a seat of Cassidy’s car.

Cassidy told the police officer that he had had a glass of wine with lunch much earlier in the day and had taken hydrocodone, a painkiller, a few hours earlier. The trooper said that Cassidy seemed confused and was apologetic.

Cassidy was pulled over by the law enforcement officer in Florida. The trooper said that he observed Cassidy’s car veer off the road and onto the rumble strip twice. The trooper said he then saw Cassidy cut off a car while getting on the exit ramp, at which point the trooper pulled him over and administered the breathalyzer and field sobriety test. Cassidy was released after posting bail early Thursday.

Cassidy’s successful music career included such hits as “I Think I Love You.” He also starred on the 1970s TV show, “The Partridge Family.”
