According to a recent article in USA Today, as more and more Americans are using daily prescription drugs, whether prescribed by a doctor or not, more and more people are being arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs. A DUI case involving drugs, however, can be difficult to prove.

T.I. Ordered Back to Jail After Drug Arrest

T.I. was sentenced last Friday by U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell Jr. in federal court in Atlanta to serve 11 more months in prison for violating the terms of his probation. The rapper and actor was arrested September 1 in L.A. after a traffic stop, during which police officers said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana in the car, found ecstasy pills in T.I.'s pockets and found cups of cough syrup mixed with soda water in the car.

T.I.: Facing Prison, Helps Prevent a Suicide in Atlanta

After a September arrest for drug possession, rapper T.I. is facing a possible return to prison. On Friday, he is scheduled to appear before a federal district judge in Atlanta. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, T.I. heard on the radio that a man was threatening to commit suicide and went immediately to the Midtown building and helped police talk the man out of jumping. T.I. says that he has no expectations for his time before the judge to be affected by the immense good deed he carried out on Wednesday.

Google's Self-Driving Cars Could Prevent Accidents, DUI

Internet-giant Google has been secretly working to build a car that drives itself, according to a piece published by The New York Times last weekend. Google engineers believe that having cars driven by robots rather than humans would make roads safer. The engineers say that the robot cars react faster than humans and have constant 360-degree perception. The robot cars would also not get sleepy, be distracted by texting or eating or drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

George Michael is currently serving a month in jail after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of drugs in August. The DUI charges stemmed from a July car accident when the singer crashed into a storefront in London while high on marijuana. Officers found marijuana cigarettes in his car and charged him with DUI.

The singer of such global hits as "Faith" and "Careless Whisper" crashed his car in July into a storefront in London while under the influence of marijuana. Police officers found Michael, 47, passed out behind the wheel and in possession of marijuana cigarettes. He was charged with DUI.
